Prompt Duel ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information: When you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your email address, display name, and profile photo from that provider.
• Anonymous session data: If you play as a guest, we assign a temporary anonymous ID to track your session and enforce the free-play limit.
• Game data: Your moves, the AI's responses, round history, and match outcomes are stored in our database to run the game and generate post-match summaries.
• Payment information: If you subscribe to Prompt Duel Pro, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details — Stripe handles all payment data.
• Usage data: We log basic usage metrics (number of duels, round counts) to enforce free-tier limits and improve the product.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To run and improve the game
• To enforce free-tier limits (3 duels per day) and subscription entitlements
• To generate post-game arc summaries using your match history
• To send transactional emails related to your account or subscription (we do not send marketing emails without your consent)

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), hosted in the United States. By using Prompt Duel, you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in the United States.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the game:

• Firebase (Google): Authentication and database
• Groq: AI responses (your moves are sent to Groq's API for processing)
• ElevenLabs: AI voice synthesis for opponent dialogue
• Stripe: Payment processing for Pro subscriptions
• Vercel: Hosting and serverless API

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing them if you have questions about how they handle data.

5. Data Retention

We retain your game history and account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or billing purposes.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Data portability

7. Cookies

We use session cookies required for authentication (Firebase Auth). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. A cookie consent notice is displayed on your first visit.

8. Children's Privacy

Prompt Duel is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice in the app or sending an email to your registered address. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
